It started as a tool I built for myself.

I built MAYHAW™ after decades in the electrical trade because I wanted the tools, calculators, references, and information I use every day together in one practical place.

Electrical work has been part of my life since I was young. My father introduced me to the trade early, and one of his sayings has stayed with me throughout my career:

The name has a Louisiana story too. A mayhaw is a small, tart red fruit from a native hawthorn tree and is often made into jelly. We chose MAYHAW because the trees grow here, the name feels like home, and—after so much trouble trying to register a name—it gave the app a distinctive identity of its own.

I started letting members of my crew use MAYHAW™ in the field. They liked it and found it useful, which showed me it could help other electricians too.

That is why I decided to make it available to electricians everywhere and keep improving it based on what working electricians actually need.
